Dine Around the Hotel

Dining options abound at the Chicago Athletic Association hotel

From breakfast through late-night drinks, you can enjoy an array of food and drink options, all without ever leaving the Chicago Athletic Association hotel. Sure, it may seem odd to visit Chicago, one of the world’s great food cities, and not explore all that the city has to offer, but would it be that crazy to treat yourself to a dining adventure within our hallowed halls? We think not. With seven options onsite, the hotel could almost be thought of as a giant Chicago food hall with all it has to offer.

Start your day with breakfast on the ground floor at Fairgrounds Coffee & Tea, where you can get coffee from a variety of American roasters, including Dark Matter, Frothy Monkey and Colectivo. Or get something from the matcha bar or an on-tap kombucha. Treat yourself to breakfast tacos or a New York bagel and lox platter.

For lunch, get an iconic burger from Shake Shack and pair that with fries and a milkshake (all available as an in-room dining option!) or treat yourself to a lingering decadent lunch upstairs at Cindy’s, our rooftop restaurant with gorgeous views of Lake Michigan and Millennium Park. There, the team offers a menu of fresh, seasonal fare with a focus on local produce and proteins, paired with inventive cocktails. No matter if you order a half-dozen oysters, striped bass aguachile,  or our “not so secret” secret burger, you’ll leave happy.

When you want a midday snack or cocktail, check out the coziness of the Drawing Room, our expansive lobby with plush couches, three working stone fireplaces and design details dating back to 1893 when the property opened. If you want something strong — and older — book a spot at the eight-seat Milk Room, opening September 10th. Once used during Prohibition as a speakeasy, the Milk Room now offers one of the best cocktail programs in the country. Guests can make 90 minute, one-hour, and two-hour reservations here.

For dinner, join us at the James Beard Award-winning Cherry Circle Room, opening late September. Start by creating your own martini or enjoy a classic cocktail made table-side on our roving cart. Keep your eye out for a new innovative menu.

When you thought you were done, leave the restaurant and enter into the Game Room, where you can play a round of bocce, billiards or table checkers while having a few beers or cocktails to keep your night going strong.
