SEPTEMBER 2019 — This monthwe’re celebrating our community’s multicultural roots with local shopping, events, and festivals. Here are our top picks for some hometown fun in September: 

Chicago Gourmet: Lights, Camera, Napkin! 
More than 250 of Chicago’s finest restaurants, bars, breweries, and cocktail purveyors converge in Millennium Park to host this two-day tasting fest. On Sunday, come across the street to visit us for Rise & Shine Gourmet with energizing yoga and brunch bites to fuel up for the final day of Chicago Gourmet.

Riot Fest
What’s our age again? Blink 182 and a round-up of rock, punk, alternative, and hip-hop artists take the stage on the west side over this three-day all-ages music festival. Started in Chicago in 2005, this event is known for musical group reunions so you never know who might show up.

Dessert Fest at the Zoo
Sweet tooth meet Saber tooth! We’re kidding – while there may not be any tigers at Lincoln Park Zoo, there will still be hundreds of desserts to peruse and sampleVisit with zoo residents while imbibing in wine, beer, and sweet treats from local restaurants, bakeries, and unique confectionaries from around the city.

21st Annual World Music Festival
Whether you’re into classic Bach, Afro-Cuban jazzor Chinese folk-ska, the largest music festival in the world has something for everyone. Over a two-week period, parks, theatres, bars, and music halls around the city host the best of the best for a celebration of music from around the world.

Lakeview East Festival of the Arts
One of the most popular and unique art festivals in the city, this weekend event showcases local goodspaintings, jewelry, woodwork, and beyond. In addition to browsing craft stalls, you’ll find live music, food and beverage booths, a family zone, and live creative demonstrations.
