Whether you’re looking for a spring break staycation or planning ahead for a summer family getaway, anticipating the needs of the kiddos is high on the list for any parent. And those needs differ greatly, whether you’re traveling with toddlers or teenagers.
Lucky for you, we’ve got a playground of sorts under one roof, not to mention the Chicago attractions right outside our door, for kids of all ages. And with our Family Play & Stay offer, you can receive a second room reservation for 50% off (so you don’t get kicked in the head while sleeping), one hour in a private Top Golf Swing Suite bay, $30 Shake Shack credit through in-room dining and discounted overnight self-parking.
For The Lil’ Ones
As much as you might like to slip away to sleep at night alone, the lil’ ones’ bedtime routines likely require one room. But you can still spread out in style in one of our spacious suites, like the Bi-Level suite that sleeps up to six, on different floors nonetheless, so that adult time can still be had after the kids go to bed.
While they are likely a little young for a 5-on-5 pick up game, the little ones will still love to shoot and play around in our vintage-style basketball court, Stagg Court. Reserve the semi-private space and let them get all the wiggles and dribbles out.
Right outside our doors sits Maggie Daley Park and their famous Play Garden, a three-acre oasis in the spirit of Alice in Wonderland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Playing and plantings sit together capturing the imagination and integrating landscape with custom-designed play structures and sculptures.
There’s no time like vacation to let the little ones skip the fruits and veggies – they’ll love the mouth-watering burgers, crinkle cuts and frozen custard shakes at Shake Shack. Dine in our entry level surrounded by stained glass, soaring ceilings and marble staircases – or if they are tuckered out from all-day playing, order it up direct to your room.
For The MEDIUM Ones
The Junior Suite with Two Double Beds lets you cozy up together, or the Millennium King suite offers up two king beds across three separate rooms – including a living room – with original architectural details and views across Michigan Avenue to Millennium Park, The Bean, Lake Michigan and beyond.
Our Drawing Room offers the ideal place to hunker down and enjoy some classic board games, or for the more active reserve a spot in Chicago’s first Topgolf Swing Suite, featuring two of the most advanced indoor golf and interactive gaming simulator bays available, offering virtual golf experiences and more.
Though you can see many of the sights from your room, you should still take advantage of our complimentary Heritage bicycles and a guided itinerary for not-to-miss attractions and our favorite Chicago spots to explore on wheels.
Since you’re out and about biking anyways, why don’t you plan to dine along the shores of Lake Michigan? Order a picnic basket or two to-go from the Game Room through Toast for a Chicago-style picnic.
For The Big Ones
Prefer to be Separate, But Together with your older kids? We have multiple room types that connect with a common door to create an adjoining suite that sleeps up to four. (Heads up, you’ll need to contact email@example.com to reserve.)
The bigger kids will be immediately drawn to our Game Room, the original billiards room that now serves as a playground (and for you, a bar!) and pays homage to our clubby past. Post up for some family competition in our built-in bocce bay, billiard, shuffleboard, chess and checkers table.
Take the opportunity from our central Michigan Avenue location to impart (or force) a little culture on the teens with a visit to the renowned Art Institute of Chicago. Founded in 1879, it’s one of the oldest and largest museums in the world with a mix of interesting and immersive exhibits, including its permanent collection of nearly 300,000 works and over 30 special exhibitions mounted each year.
The views at our rooftop gem Cindy’s are a must-see feature of any CAA stay. And while it’s a popular local fave, midweek and midday reservations are typically easier to get. Or, if you prefer to skip the line, order the same great menu straight to your room.
After several years cooped up at home and with missed vacations piling up, now’s the time to make-up for lost experiences. Learn more about what to expect during your visit and explore our special offers to book your next family getaway.
*Advance reservations at Cindy’s required. Picnic basket orders must be placed 24 hours in advance.
