Our online shop is a great place to take a piece of the CAA experience home, from Skate-Worthy Tube Socks to Winter’s Favorite Blanket. But when the holiday season rolled around this year we couldn’t get the idea of the gift of experiences out of our heads. Because after the last few years, being able to have a joyful night out with friends or a delicious cocktail feels like the biggest gift of all.
That’s why we’ve rolled up 12 of our favorite CAA experiences (Get it? 12 Days of CAA!) for the ultimate in turnkey meets experiential gifting. These experiential gift cards cover all the highlights of taking in our storied building, from roller skating the night away to a private tasting in our speakeasy-style Milk Room.
Up first? Explore the ideal gifts For The Social One in your life. You know, the ones that always have a jam-packed social calendar and the Instagram feed to prove it.
GIFTS FOR THE SOCIAL ONE
When’s the last time you skated around a roller rink? Purchase a gift card (or a few!) to one of our popular Skate Night events. Or, grab a general programming card and use it towards any of our year-around events. More than a calendar of events, our happenings are a connector of people — engaging visitors and locals alike through authentic social experiences in art, music, food, drink and what else – sport.
It’s a no brainer that with our rich history of athletics and spirited play we’re home to Chicago’s first Topgolf Swing Suite. Purchase this gift experience to enjoy a two-hour golf session for up to 10 guests.
Happy’s is our annual, over-the-top holiday bar that pops up on the ground floor of the hotel through December 23 and is an explosion of all things holiday: strong drinks, warm vibes, seasonal tunes and as many twinkling lights as possible. This gift experience is good for two drinks and a bite.
Get your game on and enjoy two hours in the Game Room. Enjoy reserved seating for up to four guests, priority game access and cocktails and cuisine.
HOLIDAYS IN CHICAGO: THINGS TO DO
The social one will likely have a full calendar of holiday events and activities up their sleeve as it is, but no holiday season in Chicago can be complete without checking out these marquee events.
Ice Skating In Millennium Park
Until March 2022
There’s no reason not grab your crew and lace-up for ice skating in Millennium Park when you can literally see it from our front door. Admission to the rink is free, and you can rent skates for $13–$15. Even better? Take advantage of free skating lessons on most Saturdays and Sundays from 8am–9am. Skating under the Chicago skyline is never more magical than at this time of year.
The Music Box Christmas Double Feature and Sing-a-Long
December 10 through 23
You may remember how much we love the Music Box from our post here. And this is a can’t-miss event at a can’t-miss Chicago favorite, now in its 38th year. Follow Jimmy Stewart’s path to redemption in It’s A Wonderful Life or sing along with Bing Crosby in White Christmas, playing back-to-back in the main auditorium. Each screening includes an appearance by Santa Claus and a Christmas carol sing-along accompanied by Music Box organist Dennis Scott.
A Christmas Carol at Goodman Theatre
Until December 31
A Christmas Carol has been a staple of the Goodman Theatre’s annual calendar for 40 years and this year is no exception. The classic Charles Dickens story returns to the stage with Larry Yando taking on the role of Ebenezer Scrooge. And for a pre-theatre aperitif? Happy’s, of course. There’s not a better setting to get your holiday vibes flowing.
